Laurel has served as a lay campus minister for a total of five
years at the University of Arizona, USC, and UCLA. Unable to
put off God's call to ordained ministry any longer, she attended
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California,
graduating with her Masters of Divinity degree in 1991.
Laurel was a co-pastor for 3 1/2 years at a congregation in
West Union, Iowa, and then served as an interim pastor at four
different churches in and around Waterloo, Iowa. She began her
position as ELCA Campus Pastor at CU in November of 1996. Laurel
and her two cats, Akina and Amani, live in Longmont, and she
loves to cook, travel, do aerobics, play tennis, watch movies,
and read mystery novels.
