A Resolution in Appreciation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod
Purpose: To lift up the work of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod within areas of campus ministry and higher education and to express the desire for increased support for and cooperation in campus ministry throughout the Lutheran Church.
Whereas, members of Lutheran Student Movement-USA are active in Lutheran congregations and campus ministries;
Whereas, LSM-USA members serve as leaders in Lutheran churches and on college and university campuses, enriching the world by responding to God’s call;
Whereas, LSM-USA, Lutheran Student Fellowship and Lutheran Colleges play a key role in developing lay and ordained leaders who advance the mission of the church;
Whereas, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America campus ministries serve Lutheran and non-Lutheran students of all backgrounds, as a role of a witness to all students and members of the community on college and university campuses;
Whereas, LSM-USA is a dedicated group of “Christian students following in the Lutheran tradition” and we “recogniz[e] our identity in the Christian faith as confessed by the Lutheran churches, and liv[e] in creative and dynamic relationship with those churches.”[1]
Therefore be it resolved that:
