RESOLUTION TO PROMOTE CAMPUS MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH
WHEREAS, Campus Ministry plays a vital role in the overall church by building leaders and reaching out to college students at a transitional time in their lives; and
WHEREAS, if the church as a whole wishes to assist in building leadership on a long term basis, then supporting campus ministry is a wise decision; and
WHEREAS, many of the Pan Lutheran congregations are not fully informed on the need for campus ministries; and
WHEREAS, student involvement in spreading the good word about campus ministry is imperative to promote the growth and continuation of campus ministry,
THEREFORE BE IT HIGHLY RESOLVED that LSM-USA do the following:
1) Request that every member of LSM-USA consider promoting campus ministry at their home churches on their next visit home.
2) Request that the newly elected LSM National Council explore ways to encourage students that are not in attendance at the 1996 San Antonio gathering to speak about campus ministry at their home churches.
3) Request that the newly elected LSM National Council report the progress of the home church visits at the first and second LSM National council meetings of the new year.
