(85-4) AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE IV OF THE LSM-USA CONSTITUION
CONCERNING THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
WHEREAS, all legislation submitted to the National LSM-USA Assembly must be corrected and put into proper form according the Constitution, and
WHEREAS, it is beneficial if ample time is allowed for the legislation to be distributed to the body of LSM-USA so that the legislation can be given proper consideration,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Article IV – The Legislative Assembly be amended to include:
“The deadline for legislation that will be guaranteed consideration at the annual assembly will be a post-mark date of fourteen weeks prior to the commencement of the Assembly, The deadline for legislation that will be considered as time allows must be received exactly one week before the beginning of the annual assembly. Any legislation received after this dated will not be give consideration.
“Under special circumstances, due to time constraints, (e.g. meetings and conferences held after the final deadline), legislation which is a direct result of these meeting and conferences will be accepted for consideration at the annual assembly. This will be decided by the Reference and Council Committee and the appointed Parliamentarian.
“All legislation received by pre-assembly packet press time will be included in the packet. All legislation that is received after the first deadline and before pre-assembly packet press will be marked indicating that it is not guaranteed consideration.”
