(85-1)     AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE IV OF THE LSM-USA CONSTITIUTION

CONVERNING THE APPOINTMENT OF A GRAMMARIAN

 

WHEREAS, LSM-USA is a viable means of growth and expression students who take their call seriously from the Lord to be faithful disciples and ambassadors for Christ, and

WHEREAS, we members of LSM-USA realize that LSM-USA give us an opportunity to speak to the church and the world on the issues that confront us all, and

WHEREAS, the legislation which is debated and acted upon at national assemblies is a chief means through which this communication takes place, and

WHEREAS, the time available for this debate and action is limited, and must necessarily be spent discussing the issues themselves, and

WHEREAS, elimination of minor grammatical errors from proposed legislation would greatly expedite the debate process,

 

THEREFORE, be it amended that the final paragraph of Article IV of the Constitution read “All minor grammatical errors will be removed from legislation by a grammarian appointed by the National Council.  All changes will be made in conjunction with the author approval.”
