HIGHER EDUCATION

WHEREAS      Present economic difficulties make jobs scarce and loans expensive; and

WHEREAS      The ability to pursue higher education in these difficult times is evidence of blessings bestowed by God; and

WHEREAS      Members of LSM are especially blessed by way of present and future studies;

THEREFORE, Be it resolved that members of LSM give joyful thanks to God for these benefits, and to express happy thanks to family members and other sources of support such our churches, and to honor the responsibility that such a gift involves; and

Be it further resolved that the members of LSM-USA strive individually and collectively to make a higher education available to all through;

a. Writing letters to our government officials regarding support of institutions of higher education and financial aid for students;

b. Raising our concerns about higher education with our congregations and national church bodies;

c. And exploring and working towards new means for providing access to higher education.
