81-5 RESOLUTION UPDATING
Background
Over the past 12 years, the Lutheran Student Movement-USA has ratified a great number of resolutions. Several of these are ongoing action proposals with no clear definition of time limit. Because of this, these resolutions are left with no sponsors and no action has been taken on them.
Some of these resolutions are:
78-4 Resolution on World Hunger
(1) that LSM-USA continue their commitment to the world’s hungry through an annual Ash Wednesday fast, coordinated by a local affiliated LSM group.
77-9 Resolution on Clowning
(2) that Clown Alley will meet once each year at the National Conference.
(3) that, from its members workshops will be held at the National Conference to provide experiences for clown training.
Therefore BE IT RESOLVED
1. that, although LSM-USA remains faithful to the intentions of these proposals and continues to promote the ideas expressed in them, the resolutions be muted and the proposed action be deferred, pending action be a sponsoring group to again take responsibility for the action;
2. that this action apply only to the above-mentioned resolutions;
3. that if a sponsoring group can be found, a time frame be set up for the resolution.
Sponsored by: Deb Wille and National Council
