Membership into the Lutheran Coalition on Southern Africa

LSM-USA affiliates itself with the Lutheran Coalition on Southern Africa, which advocates a complete end to the United States investment in Southern Africa and considers apartheid to be in direct conflict with a Lutheran confession of faith.  LSM-USA urges local groups to join the Coalition, working through congregations and resource people.  Through form letters, LSM-USA will address the church bodies with regard to their investment practices.

+   LSM-USA affirmed the goals of the Lutheran Coalition on Southern Africa and upon affiliation a copy of this resolution was sent to them.

+   A packet of information on Southern Africa and the Lutheran Coalition is available from the national office of LSM-USA at a cost of $2.00 each.

+   The New England region has affiliated with the Lutheran Coalition on Southern Africa.  Several other regions have made contact including Great Lakes, North Central, Pacific Southwest, and the Dakotas.

+   No groups have reported using this topic for study at regional or sub-regional events.
