Resolution 79-2

Energy Conservation

LSM-USA realizes the importance of being conscious of the use of energy.  LSM-USA pledged to save fuel and electricity at home, at work, and at leisure in order to make more energy available for those whose basic energy needs are not being met.

Actions Taken

+   One hundred fifty-two people signed the petition with this pledge at the 1979 LSM-USA National Assembly. 

+   Copies of this resolution were sent to the President of each major Lutheran church body, to the President of the United States, and to the World Council of Churches in Genoa, Switzerland.

+   The Rhode Island Lutheran students compiled a list of energy-saving tips which was included in the 1979 post-conference packet.
