                        Dear Mr. Jacobs:

Thank you for sending me the resolutions and position papers of LSM. I have read them and appreciate the concerns of LSM. I am especially pleased at the reaffirmation of the existing unity among LCA, LC-MS, and ALC.

I noted the absence of any resolution summoning the youth to evangelical outreach. The ALC and LCA are currently engaged in a major effort and the necessity of evangelism as essential to Christian life needs reemphasis.

The LWF Assembly called on all its member churches for renewal efforts in evangelism. It is easy to evangelism for granted. I think it always needs a visible place.

Best wishes for a great LSM year.

                        Sincerely,
