Into Action:

1977 LSM-USA Resolutions, Position Papers, & Consequent Activities

            This booklet provides a record of actions taken on the resolutions and position papers adopted at the 1977 LSM-USA Legislative Assembly. While we at the national office have tried to find out how local groups are involved in these issues, this booklet does not and cannot record actions taken by every local group on a particular issue, especially if they do not inform the national office. So, if a group sees it was not recorded as having acted upon a resolution or position paper when in fact they did, I apologize for the omission and urge them to inform the national office and/or their regional councilperson in the future if they feel their actions are noteworthy in their originality or faithfulness to the spirit of a resolution or position paper.

            Copies of each of the resolutions and position papers were sent to the presidents of the American Lutheran Church, Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, Lutheran Church in American, Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, and the Lutheran Council in the USA by LSM-USA president, Stephen P. Jacobs. At the beginning of the booklet are copies of the responses LSM-USA received from these church body presidents.
