76-6 Position Paper – Big Brother, Big Sister

WHEREAS the Big Brother, Big Sister program is set up to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children so that they can experience situations which they would not normally be able to; and

WHERE AS there are children who come from homes of single parents who are not privileged like other children; and

WHERE AS there are children who come from broken homes with parents who do not care about them or what they do; and

WHEREAS the future of our nation depends on its youth; then

LET IT BE RESOLVED that the LSM-USA students without a Big Brother, Big Sister program be encouraged to start a project, that they might help these children, and

LET IT BE RESOLVED that LSM-USA students help shape our future by being a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child; and

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Dakotas region of the LSM-USA be responsible for preparing at least on article on this subject to be published in the LSM-USA newsletter during the 1976-1977 school year.
