WORLD HUNGER

In answer to the cries of millions of the world’s hungry:

Be it resolved that the Lutheran Student Movement’s National Council provide local groups with resources and information concerning the dilemma of world hunger through which our Lord cries out, “I am hungry.”

Be it further resolved that the Lutheran Student Movement National Council enable local groups to fulfill this calling by examining and suggesting areas of need to which we can devote our resources and ourselves and by encouraging a day of fast by LSM members and donating funds saved thereby to a hunger-alleviating organization.

Because relief efforts are merely bandages placed over festering wounds, we call for more. We must examine ourselves, our lives, and the way we live them, and the institutions we have built to express our will. They must change!

Be it further resolved that the Lutheran Student Movement National Council appoint a task force to study and prepare a report on the style of life we are called upon to live in a hungry world. Said study is to be presented at the next national study conference.
