Whereas, Paul said in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew or Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus;”
and whereas, there is no scriptural evidence within the Gospel which says women may not be given equal opportunity,
and whereas, discrimination by sex still exists within our Lutheran church,
Be it resolved, that LSM support:
1. women receiving full voting rights in all Lutheran congregations;
2. women being accepted for ordination in all Lutheran synods;
3. the calling of women by local congregations to serve as Pastor thus making their ordination possible;
be it further resolved that:
1. the LSM President send letters expressing these our concerns to the Presidents of the national Lutheran church bodies;
2. the LSM regional representatives send copies of this resolution to all LSM campuses asking them to pass this resolution on to area congregations.
