SEMINEX

            Whereas, the Lutheran Student Movement recognizes its identity in the Christian faith as confessed by the Lutheran churches and is concerned for he life and unity of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ;

            and whereas, our Constitution defines one of our purposes as the promotion of “Lutheran unity in every way possible;”

            and whereas, it has for 450 years been a basic tenet of the Lutheran reformation that no church body or official has the right to dictate what shall be the beliefs of the people of God;

            and whereas, at the present time, certain of our brothers and sisters are being harassed for adhering to these traditional Lutheran tenets and are heroically sacrificing their professional security and church standing in defense of the Word of God as they understand it;

            Be it resolved, that the Lutheran Student Movement ask each of its regions to consider the facts of the Seminex situation and make such financial contributions to Seminex as they see fit.
