SOUTH VIETNAMESE POLITICAL PRISONERS

            Whereas, it is documented that the Saigon government of Viet Nam, at present, holds 200,000 political prisoners in violation of the 1973 Paris Peace Agreement;

            and whereas, it is documented that the Saigon government has subjected these prisoners to torture and other forms of inhumane abuse;

            Be it resolved that we, the 1974 National Conference, out of Christian conviction and love for our Vietnamese brothers and sisters, condemn these acts of repression enacted by the Saigon regime;

be it further resolved, that all the assembled at the LSM National Conference are urged to take this resolution back to their local chapters for adoption and urge every local chapter to hold at least one study forum on South Vietnamese Political Prisoners during the year.
