“Year of Torture” Resolution

Whereas the LSM has long professed a concern in the areas of social injustice at home and abroad; and

Whereas Amnesty International has declared 1974 the “Year of Torture”, be it therefore

Resolved that the LSM embrace the “Year of Torture” as a major interest of the 1973-74 academic year; and be it further

Resolved this 1973 national conference of the LSM empower the LSM Council and staff to provide consciousness-raising information concerning the “Year of Torture” through LSM publications and conferences.
