Resolution #5:
Whereas the A.L.C. and the L.C.A. have both adopted statements on homosexuality which reflect their recognition that the question is one of critical importance; and
Whereas there still exists much religious antagonism to the homosexual and to the problems of the gay community; and
Whereas it is the duty of all Christian groups to witness to all of God’s people of the love that comes from God, and to provide for their spiritual needs and needs as a person;
Therefore be it resolved by the Lutheran Student Movement in Assembly that they actively encourage the individual groups represented at this Assembly to prepare and plan programs and plans of study on the homosexual and the problems of the gay community to help further the education of clergy and laity and provide means for decisions affecting the homosexual; and
Be it further resolved that the Lutheran Student Movement urge its constituent groups to encourage the participation of the gay community in the worship and service of the Church; and
Be it further resolved that the Lutheran Student Movement provide for programs on the homosexual in light of the Christian commitment to all at the next General Assembly.
