Exhibit P
(Plenary IX)
We, the undersigned, the “groovy” guys and gals in the back rows of this assembly, want to commend publicly our colleagues, The Reverend Dr. Donald W. Herb, The Reverend Filbert E. Doan, Jr., and the incomparable Mrs. William (Elsie “Lou”) Kuhns, but more especially the voting members of this assembly—the students.
We admire your stick-to-it-iveness, dedication, and determination. We honor the manner in which you have manifested your profound concern about the future of the student movement. We confess that you have far surpassed our ability to be sustained in energy and enthusiasm, in your devotion to the resolution of issues large and small.
We further commend you for the way in which a great diversity of viewpoints on difficult issues were patiently molded into a constituting document. We offer you our pledge to assist in the accomplishments of the objectives of the Lutheran Student Movement in any way you might request.
If we had rewards to offer, we would award you all medals and bouquets and glittering angels’ wings.
We’re proud to bear the “Lutheran” label with you.
